Our Biographies

Charlie Ewing* is a well-known financial services professional in Maryville, Tennessee.  He has trained hundreds of financial services professionals throughout the east and southeastern U.S. on advising clients regarding their personal financial goals.  Mr. Ewing had held retirement planning workshops and seminars for clients in several states and has helped over two thousand people prepare for their retirement.  Charlie loves working with educators and helping them plan for retirement and has worked in this market for much of his career.  Charlie has developed a specialty in working with retirees and those about to retire who want to protect their principal and find ways to make their money last throughout retirement.  This practice focuses on helping seniors avoid common financial mistakes.

Charlie has been working with seniors for 17 years and is a Certified Senior Advisor.  He has also conducted numerous marriage retreats around the south and mid-west.  Charlie and his wife, Becky, live in Maryville and have two children.  Charlie has a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Theology from Vision Bible College and is active in his church.  He is also an avid tennis enthusiast.

Andrea Carpenter, CLU,ChFC,CEA* has been in the financial services industry over 19 years.  Andrea has also trained and managed registered representatives, insurance agents and bank associates in both insurance and investment products around the southeast, U.S.  Her training background includes writing materials and recording training videos for representatives.  Andrea's heart is that of an educator and has allowed her to develop a specialty in working with Educators.  She understands the unique retirement planning concerns specific to this industry and has helped hundreds of teachers with their retirement plans.     Another area of focus for Andrea includes estate preservation and business planning for clients.  Her background provides a unique perspective for clients of the Ewing Group who may be planning to pass on those assets and businesses they have worked diligently to build throughout their lifetimes.

Andrea is a Maryville native where she lives with her husband Joel and two children.  She is a graduate of Alcoa High and Maryville College where she received her Bachelor's degree in Management.  She was a varsity fast pitch softball player and continues be involved with her children's sports activities.  Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family and help out at her church.

Julia Deering,LUTCF * Julia has amassed over 27 years experience in Financial services and has deep roots in the North Knoxville area.   Julia's love for teaching lead her to focus on helping other teachers plan for their retirement.  Her knowledge of the specific plans and programs available have proved invaluable to her clients in their retirement plans.  She is an expert in all areas of retirement for not only teachers, but all individuals who desire to have peace of mind as they plan for their financial futures.  Julia holds the professional designation, LUTCF backing up her committment to education. 

Julia is a long time resident of the Powell area.  She has a son and several grandchildren.  She enjoys oil painting and gardening. One of her favorite activities is enjoying the fellowship of her church family.  

Keith Sparks -Keith is the newest member of the Ewing Group joining us in July 2010.  Keith has a wide range of experience in assisting individuals to take the steps necessary to maximize their goals and objectives.  His goal is to educate them and enable them to achieve the financial lifestyle they desire.  He helps clients diversify their portfolios by using several different tools available to them, including life insurance and annuities.  Keith takes pride in doing extensive research and remaining up to date on new tools available to assist clients navigate uncertain economic times with confidence.  

Keith is a graduate of Tusculum College with a BS in Business Management.  He lives in Maryville with his wife Teresa and their daughter.  His wife has been a teaching assistant in the Maryville City School system for 15 years and his daughter is a teacher in Blount County.  Keith is an avid outdoorsman and history buff.  Keith is active in his church both as a Deacon and mission teams.
